Eskmo @ Hub Sat 11th April. 1 final Hubstep!

Saturday 11th April  saw The Deep End hit the Hub for one last dubstep rave... Exeter's spiritual home of dubstep is soon to be no more, as Heavitree breweries is looking to sell off the premises. Back in January 2007, we hosted SKREAM's first visit to Devon, and the man tore the roof off! Since then, under the night's previous name, Breaksphere, we proceeded to put on many of the scene's biggest names at the Hub, including YOUNGSTA, CASPA, N TYPE, PLASTICIAN, APPLEBLIM, SHACKLETON, PINCH, CHEF, LD, ROGUE STATE, KROMESTAR, F1, HEADHUNTER and many more + Djs CLIPZ, HAZARD, SAPPO, TAXMAN & BEARDYMAN. The other saturday saw our first inernational booking to the Hub, with one of San Francisco's pioneering producers, ESKMO, stopping in on Exeter as part of only a 4 date UK tour. After the scene had been set by an impressive 4 deck performance from Compo & Ron Willis, and residents Ben Adams, Corticyte & Sub Heavy's top boy, Necta Selecta laid down further earth trembling bass monsters, ESKMO took to the stage and proceeded to educate the crowd with a midi controller masterclass! He played a highly energetic live set, constantly tweaking and live remixing of his own emaculately produced brand of glitch and techno infused dubstep.
Ellie made her debut for The Deep End, flexing her vocal chords to great effect, complimenting the music beautifully, and Illogik & I played back to back till the final curtain.
Neighbourhood Sound was on fine form, sounding crisp and powerful, and featuring 4 brand new hog scoops which were kicking out a devastating amount of bass! Big ups to Rupe for all his work building the rig, and to Sam for his help as well. I'm proud to have helped out with it, and been part of building the new bass bins. Was wicked to hear all 4 together. 4 more are in the making for 29th May @ the Phoenix..!
Massive thanks to everyone who made it out to show their support. The atmosphere in there was tiptop as always! Big thanks to Adam as well for hosting an awesome afterparty. I've never seen so much effort put into a house party b4! Was great to show Eskmo a bit of Devon hospitality too. It was the only after party he made it to whilst he was over, and it didn't disappoint! I called him a cab at about 6ish, but the rest of us didn't stagger home till way after sunrise...
Fairwell to Peg, one of our most loyal ravers, who's now heading off travelling to Australia. We'll miss u bro!
Mystery x
